Born and raised in Sayville, Long Island, NY, Virginia's artistic abilities started showing as soon as she could hold a pencil.  She began studying art at age 6, after a kindergarden teacher confirmed to her mother that Virginia had an artistic gift.  Private lessons continued during the formative years, winning a national art contest at age 10, and continued on through high school. Attendance at Parson's School of Design in NY and graduation from the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology in NY earned Virginia a degree in Illustration.

After vacationing on Oahu in the winter of 1984, Virginia fell in love with the islands' vibrant colors and positive energy. She returned to Hawaii that summer after telling her parents that she left her soul there, and has basically been here ever since.

After taking a break for her "best work of art ever," her son Kai, now 5, Virginia has come back out into the public eye, displaying and selling her artwork twice monthly in the main lobby at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki Beach. Please inquire about exact dates and times.

A partial list of the artist's clients include: Bishop Museum, Hale Koa Hotel, Island Heritage Publishing Company, Hawaiian Resources Publishing Company, and a 15 ft. mural of a mermaid which is showcased at the Round Table Pizza in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Virginia's signature piece, "I Love Hawaii" has graced the covers of 400,000 Hawaiian Airlines in-flight menus. You can also purchase usable art products featuring Virginia's images at her Cafe Press store, where t-shirts, tote bags, baby clothing, greeting cards and other products are offered.

Art is healing to the mind, body, and spirit. "I hope you find these images appealing enough to decorate the walls of your home and office. The majority's response to Virginia's artwork is that it makes them smile, and that, the artist says, is what it is all about.
